ART PREP GUIDE

PREPARING FILES FOR LARGE FORMAT We support most major design programs for both Mac and PC. It is impossible to create instructions in a single page to cover all possible variables when creating artwork for large format design. So if you have any questions when setting up your art please feel free to contact our in-house art department at: 800.678.4041. Artwork can be designed at full size or if it’s very large please scale the art to 10% of actual size. Use the following as a guide for proper resolutions: • For “from the press” jobs artwork should be a minimum resolution of 300dpi at full size • For large format jobs artwork can be as low as 72dpi at actual size • For artwork designed at 10% scale be sure to increase the resolution by a factor of 10. So, a large format job at 10% scale should be 720dpi

We prefer all artwork to be in CMYK mode to prevent color shifts when going from RGB (screen color space) to CMYK (print color space).

Please convert all active fonts to outlines prior to send artwork. If fonts cannot be converted to outlines please include the font files with your artwork submission.

If color accuracy is critical be sure to specify Pantone (PMS) colors in your art. Please keep in mind that the Pantone Color Bridge will be used for color matching.

Please use our website file upload for submitting artwork. Email can be unreliable when sending large files.

Your artwork will be checked by our art department and you will be sent a PDF proof for approval prior to printing.
